1. Consultation
Discuss and tour property with owner
Address problem areas as well as owner wants/needs
Obtain all available documentation from owner (plats, surveys, pictures, etc.)
Sketch thumbnail drawings as needed to discuss landscape possibilities
Measure property as needed to develop base map and design
Photograph property for reference and perspective sketches
2. Base Map
Assemble all gathered information into one reference map
Data can include plats, surveys, online GIS, & on-site measurements
Input all data into Auto-CAD to ensure proper scale
3. Schematic Design
Quickly sketch several layouts to ensure thorough development of ideas
Review schematic design with owner if necessary
4. Final Design
Transfer final schematic design into Auto-CAD or hand-rendered plan
Develop supporting graphics as necessary (details, elevations, sections, etc.)
Determine detailed planting plan
Annotate final drawing for presentation and construction
5. Job Costing & Proposal (if applicable)
Tabulate plant totals and sizes (sourcing plants as needed)
Measure beds and prepared areas for soil & mulch
Measure hardscapes for all related materials
Determine all other materials (irrigation, lighting, carpentry, etc.)
Input all plants & materials into proposal spreadsheet
Verify proposal & contracts with installation contractor
6. Presentation
Deliver all drawings & proposals to owner
Walk-through design & proposals and the reasoning behind all design decisions
Answer all questions as they arise and note any changes needed
Determine best approach for installation (phasing if necessary)
All time is billed at a rate of $60 per hour.
All time is billed by the quarter hour.
Payment is due upon receipt of invoice.
Invoices are prepared and delivered along with the final design
